Catalpa (1938)

The Catalpa (catalpa bignonioides 'Aurea') in the Square Jean-Baptiste Mouroit is one of the last relics of the 1938 park layout by renowned Belgian garden architect Jules Buyssens (1872-1958). Because of its historical value, it was decided in consultation with a professional arborist in early 2024 to provide the tree with the necessary support so that it can continue to grow and flourish.
